Cadillac XLR & XLR-V

The XLR is a luxury roadster sold by the Cadillac division of General Motors and is assembled in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It is based on the same Y-body platform as the Chevrole Corvette. The XLR uses the Cadillac Northstar engine rather than the GM LS2 engine found in the Corvette. The XLR also has its own unique styling, interior, and suspension, and has a power-retractable aluminum hardtop. The engine is Cadillac's 4.6 L Northstar tuned for 320 hp, mated as of the 2007 model year to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
Cadillac introduced the XLR at the 2003 Detroit Motor Show, and it entered production in the 2004 model year. Prior to production the XLR appeared as the Evoq in auto shows. It has a base price of $76,650 USD. Sales have been below expectations. Rather than reaching 6,000 per year, Cadillac had sold just 4,745 in 18 months as of March 2005. According to Cadillac, 3,730 were sold in the United States in all of 2005.
Designed for both performance and luxury, the XLR comes with heated and cooled leather seats, wood interior trim, 18 inch alloy wheels, and side airbags. Navigation, audio, and DVD are all displayed via a 7-inch dashboard screen, and Remote Keyless Access is included. All of these features are standard.
The XLR is the second roadster offered by Cadillac in recent years. The first was the Cadillac Allanté, produced from 1987 to 1993.
The XLR was nominated for the North American Car of the Year award for 2004.
Competitors include the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class, Lexus SC, BMW 6 Series, Jaguar XK and Maserati Spyder.

Cadillac gave the public its first glimpse of the supercharged XLR-V in its Super Bowl commercial, which aired February 6, 2005. Super Bowl MVP, Deion Branch was also awarded an XLR.
The XLR-V uses the same supercharged Northstar V8 as the STS-V, though output is down somewhat. For the XLR-V, the engine is certified by the SAE to produce 443 hp (330 kW) and 414 ft·lbf (561 N·m). The supercharger and four intercoolers are built into the intake manifold. A six-speed automatic transmission, larger brakes from the Z51 Corvette, and 19-inch wheels will also be used.
The XLR-V can accelerate to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds according to Car and Driver's tests. The

magazine also timed it at 11.3 seconds to 100 mph and recorded a 13.0 second quarter mile at 110 mph (177 km/h). Its top speed is limited to 155 mph (249 km/h)
The XLR-V was introduced in the United States in early 2006.

Cadillac Escalade

The Cadillac Escalade is a full-size luxury SUV sold by the General Motors luxury brand, Cadillac. It was the division's first major entry into the popular SUV market. The Escalade was introduced for the 1999 model year in response to German and Japanese competitors and to Ford's 1998 release of the Lincoln Navigator. The Escalade project went into production only 10 months after it was approved. The standard Escalade is built in Arlington, Texas.
The Escalade was originally based on the GMC Yukon Denali, but was redesigned for the 2002 model year to make its appearance fall more in line with Cadillac's new design theme. The Escalade was not the first Chevrolet-based Cadillac: the first generation Seville and the 1980s Cimarron were based on entry-level Chevrolet vehicles (the Nova and Cavalier, respectively). As of today, the Escalade and Escalade EXT pickup are, together with the Cadillac BLS, the only Cadillac vehicles made outside of the United States since the demise of the German-built Cadillac Catera in 2001. Both the Escalade ESV (a luxurious Chevrolet Suburban) and Escalade EXT were made in Silao, Mexico before the 2006 redesign; the new Escalade ESV is sourced from Arlington, Texas.
Major competitors include the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, Lexus LX series, Infiniti QX56 and the Lincoln Navigator.

Cadillac DTS

The Cadillac DTS (DeVille Touring Sedan) is a full-size luxury sedan from the Cadillac luxury division of General Motors. The DTS replaces the Cadillac DeVille as that carmaker's largest luxury car for the 2006 model year, following the naming and styling direction set by the earlier CTS and STS.
The design of the DTS was introduced in a unique way. A specially-designed and outfitted presidential DTS limousine was utilized during the second inauguration of George W. Bush in the January 20, 2005 parade. While details of the vehicle, codenamed Stagecoach, are highly classified, it is presumed to be heavily armored and feature advanced communication equipment. The production DTS was shown at the 2005 Chicago Auto Show on February 9.
The DTS is manufactured at GM's Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly factory in Michigan. The Luxury models are priced at US$41,990, while the Performance version is priced at US$50,490. The DTS is the best-selling full-size luxury car in North America.
One major feature change from the Deville to the DTS was the elimination of the standard 6-passenger seating configuration for non-limousine models. However, such capability remains an optional feature.
A stretched version of the DTS (known as the DTS-L) has been unveiled for 2007. This will likely be a six-inch stretch of the platform giving rear passengers a more spacious environment.
The Cadillac DTS is the largest sedan General Motors offers. The DTS rides on the K-platform as denoted by the 4th letter in the VIN, and is powered by the 32V Northstar V8, which produces 275 bhp in luxury trim. The DTS Performance Package horsepower increases this to 292 bhp. The DTS has standard features such as eight airbags, Xenon high power headlamps, leather seating, and power seats. Options include navigation system, MRC (magnetic ride control on performance models only), moonroof, chrome wheels, heated/cooled seats even a heated steering wheel is an option. A fully loaded DTS will top out at around $55,000(US) depending on your color choice and exact options. A new DTS Platinum Edition will be released sometime in mid to late 2007 with special interior trim, badging and other luxury features. No word yet on the engine's performance. Many people believe the L37 will be put in, nothing is for certain yet. Also the DTS-L was released with much improved rear legroom and a longer rear C-pillar reminiscent of the older Fleetwood 75 Series. Stabli-track remains standard on all but the base trim and with 3 choice of leather seating surfaces the DTS brings a new level of luxury to the Cadillac marque.
